Finally There!

We finally arrived on Thursday the 10th of last month (I think that is the date) to the beach. Jamey's family started going there years ago to meet up with the extended family each summer. We have not been in a few years. We went to Port Aransas, TX. It was SOOOOO hot but other than that we had a great time! Thanks so much to Rod and Joan for providing such a great vacation for us!

Next stop, Hockly, TX

Our next stop was Hockley, TX to see Jamey's Aunt Cinie, Uncle Tracy, Cousins Tracine, and Lear. I am so disappointed in my picture taking! I did not get a single picture of ANY of them. What was wrong with me! They have an amazing house, it was an old school house that they redid to live in and you would not believe how amazing it is. It should be on HGTV for sure. I spent most of my time looking at all the detail in the house and the decor. So that I guess will have to be my excuse for not picture taking! Still I am disappointed. We had an amazing time and it was soooo good to see them again. The babies loved them and I think the feelings were mutual. We met up with Jamey's parents, Mitch, rusty, and Candi, there as well. In this pic grandaddy was supposed to be feeding hungry Carter and he was really doing more talking to the grown ups so Carter took matters into his own hands. The first time he has done that, too cute!

Calla was still sleepy after eating her breakfast so she went back to bed with daddy. She had her hand on his shoulder it was so sweet, had to capture it!

On our way to the beach...

Our next stop... Austin, TX. We stopped in there to see Jamey's brother's family. Bo is Jamey's older brother and his wife Amanda. They have two amazing boys, Tommy and Joey, and a little girl on the way (at the time). Amanda was in the hospital with pregnancy complications so we stopped first to see her, she was doing well! Then on to see Tommy and Joey at their house. Carter and Calla were thrilled to see their cousins and very entertained by them. Tom and Joe kept bringing them different toys to play with and showing them how to play with them. It was great fun! Wish we all lived closer!

First Trip to the Zoo

We went on vacation a few weeks ago, well almost a month ago now, sorry I am so behind on updates. We left for the beach on the 8Th of last month and since it was such a long drive, we broke it into three days on the way there. Our first stop was Dallas. We thought it would be fun to go to the zoo. Well it wasn't! It was hotter than you know where and the babies really could have cared less. The animals were all so hot that they were laying around or nowhere to be found so the babies couldn't even tell they were there. They loved some cold water being poured on them and they just drank and drank. Lesson learned for sure!!!

Picture Updates

Daddy has a mowhawk, why can't I?

Blu dog turned two years old on June 30th, and to celebrate we made them peanut butter sandwiches. They loved them!

Daddy was giving Calla a bath and Buggie decided to take a little nap while they were in the bathroom. So sweet!

We went to our friend Hayden's second birthday. Calla and her friend Emily thought they would coordinate outfits for the occasion.

Calla moves all over the place these days, even in her sleep. Thank you Sarah for our pretty new blankets!

Now what?

Isn't it sweet that Calla has already learned to share! She thought her brother might want to suck on that thumb for a while and he did, so thoughtful!

When the timing is right buggie loves to eat oatmeal but his favorite so far is banana's.

Calla does not like banana's but she loves oatmeal. I even tried to mix them together and she was not to be fooled. That girl can spit!

First taste of solids

The night of Fathers day the babies got their first tastes of solid food, well really mushy solids anyway. They got some rice cereal! It was really fun to watch their little faces trying to figure it all out. The most fun is playing with the spoon!

First Father's Day June 21st, 2009

Well, the reason this blog is SOOOO behind in updates is because we were waiting on daddy to make a post about fathers day. We now know that is like waiting on Christmas or the last day of school so mommy will write it for him. :-)

Fathers day was great! Uncle Mitch, Jamey's brother was still in town. Mommy made a huge breakfast with all the breakfast greats (grease and more grease) and it was Delicious if I do say so myself! We then just hung out and enjoyed the day! We watched a movie, Marley and Me, and we already knew the dog died (sorry to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it) but did it have to take so long?? It was actually an amazing movie and reminded us a little of our own family, especially the dog :-).

Jamey is a great father and how lucky Carter and Calla are to have him! And how lucky I am to have married him!

Our first swim. With our trip to the beach coming up next month mommy thought it would be a good idea to get us in the water to see what we thought. Of course we love the bath tub, but this was no bath tub! It was cold! Calla was very unsure of it all and this is the most excited look she gave us the whole time, but no tears! Carter was a little more excited and seemed a little interested and gave some smiles. Too cute! ( Having no swim diapers yet was an experiment in itself :0) )

Uncle Mitch Came to Town

Uncle Mitch cam to see us this weekend! Jamey and I had not seen him in three years. WAY too long of time for sure! He looks great and is doing great! Carter and Calla loved their uncle Mitch and I think the feeling was mutual. Of course we had to pull out the A&M hat for him and sure enough it now fits like a glove. Carter can't wait to were it to the beach in Texas next

month with the Bowling family. ( I love Calla in this picture looking to see what all the

fuss was about :-).

Thanks for coming Uncle Mitch! We all had a great time!

Hello all followers! This is a random collection of pictures in attempt to update this blog. We have been busy the past few weeks. Here are some highlights!

Calla sitting in her highchair! She seems to like it for short periods of time. Thanks Aunt Peggy, Cousins Tracy and Terry for the great highchairs! She likes to suck on a spoon and seems to be ready to start solids soon. I can't believe that just 5 months ago she had trouble eating. You would never know it now!

Look at her hair! WHY is it getting so light? I really wanted her to keep her dark hair! It is not quite as light as this picture portrays but it is definitely getting lighter!

Carter and Calla's granddad (Hilary's dad) stopped by to say hello. He brought his wife MaryAnn and they got a chance to catch up with the babies. We had a good time.

Calla LOVES her feet. She found them a couple of weeks ago and hasnt let them go since. Very cheap entertainment for sure!

Great granddad loves Carter and Calla and the feeling is mutual! They played the entire time we were there to visit and had so much fun.

I love how they sometimes really show their TWIN sides. They fell asleep at seperate times at great granddads house but when they were put on the couch they assumed the exact same position. So sweet!

They really like to be where the action is. This is in great granddad's kitchen watching us make dinner. As you can see Calla sits really well and will be sitting unsupported soon. Carter is really taking his time and just enjoying the luxury of being held and snuggled.

Calla is rolling over! She rolls from back to front and has been for a couple of weeks. She has only rolled back over once but mostly rolls over and them screams for help, over and over again. She loves it and is very proud of herself.

Wow we have a lot of cousins! It is so fun. This is cousins cade, kaitlyn, and reed.

Bath time is still a favorite with both babies. Calla has been a splashing fool for a while now. Buggie (Carter) has now discovered the art also. It is so much fun to see their little faces light up when the water goes in the air. Some of our best smiles are in the tub.

"Now what do we do?" :-)

Hayden Meesey - Ladies Man

May 15th, 2009. Well I think that Jenny and Bryan have a ladies man on their hands. Hayden Meesey loves Calla! It was so cute the following Sunday from when this picture was taken, we saw the Meesey's at Lowe's and Hayden came up and grabbed Calla's hand. Too Cute!

Mothers Day!

May 10th, 2009. My first mothers day! I had the best day ever. I woke up to my sweet husband wishing me a good day. He got me a white gold band with the babies sweet names engraved in it. I love it and had secretly wanted that very gift! He cooked breakfast and then asked me what I wanted to do that day. I really wanted to go to church, however, the babies are teething and had been super fussy all week. Well still no teeth but on Mothers Day, they were angels! So what I wanted to do was clean the house. Yes, you read it right, that is all I really wanted was a clean house. So, we cleaned for like four hours, it really wasn't fun but it needed to be done and it was nice to see the finished product (for at least a day, right). Calla and Carter seemed to really enjoy watching us run around and clean. Inside I think they were really laughing at daddy for getting suckered into it all! :-) When they went down for a nap we watched a movie, Role Model, which had a really cute story and it was funny. Then bath time and I thought I would take the Mothers day opportunity to dress them somewhat alike (outfits provided by Aunt Jane) and take pictures. This one was my favorite. Calla loves to grab his hands and aren't they just soooo cute. I am so blessed that I finally got to have a Mothers day and it be so special but most of all for the wonderful husband that loves me and the two sweetest little miracles of all, Carter and Calla!

Congrats, Jenny!

Just wanted to say congrats to Jenny! She graduated on May 9th with her Masters degree! She will be an amazing teacher! These pics are from a party that her family had for her to celebrate. It is amazing how the babies in our group of friends is multiplying and this isn't even all of them! Pictured above are me, Carter, Calla, Brad, Logan, Hayden, Jenny, Emily, and Mrs. Logan. And below of course I had to capture Brad, the "I hate children" guy, holding my sweet babies. (I don't think he hates them after all!)

Calla has really taken a liking to her brother lately. Now that she can roll over on her side she loves to look at Carter and touch him. Usually on his face or shoulder. Occasionally I have to help him when she grabs an ear and doesnt want to let go. He will sometimes look at her like she is crazy and sometimes crack a smile, but mostly just ignores her and lets her play.

A New Friend

The other day we had a park play date with Hayden Meesey, his mommy Jenny, and our friend Holly. Hayden and Calla really hit it off. Carter was a little uninterested so he decided it would be his nap time. Hayden held Calla's hand and she smiled at him all afternoon. We all had a great time!
