Trip to Granddad's May 4-6, 2011

May 4th - 6th we went to visit my granddad. We truly had the best trip. The kids had a blast, as I did when I went there as a kid. It is really so good to see him. It has gotten harder to get to NE Arkansas now that we have the three little ones so the times that we get over there mean so much! Here are several of the pictures that I took while we were there. It was a little cool and it had been very rainy, this was right after all the flooding we had.

Crab nets are good for more than catching crabs!

To see the kids walking together in the yard that Shelley and I grew up playing in is to so sweet. I just love it there.

We took them to a park and of course there was still water and mud everywhere. I just said oh well and let them at it. So as you can see the boots were a good investment and they are soaked and muddy but had a blast!

Weeeeeeeee!

Weeeeeeeeee!

Snack time.
Yes I am that mom who lets her kids get even wetter in the cool weather. They were having so much fun I just couldn't help it. Now had I known that it was deeper than their boots i might have made a different decision.

At least I kept the baby out of the puddle! Only because I couldn't find boots small enough.

We went to paragould to see our aunt Peggy. This is a farming field. They really were affected by the flooding over there.

So I think that public big toys are gross since I am a bit of a germaphobe. The kids have never been to a mcdonalds playland. This was a first. I was a little anxious while we were there but they had an absolute blast. I am pretty sure that carter and calla went up the stairs and down the slide at least 100 times.

Watching Kipper on granddads couch.

Aunt Peggy made a great choice in gifts for the kids. These bubble wands were amazing.

Sticks are still a favorite. Such a little boy!

Cedar had a really good time. He had already been walking but being on the farm gave him great new experiences at rough terrain. He made such progress in just three days. Much more sturdy and stable. "diddy" and cedar enjoying the porch swing.

The twins are checking out the tractor.

Cedar wanted to share the dirt and leaves he was collecting.

Peek a boo!

This is my tree. Its a cedar tree that when i was a little kid we dug up in the pasture and replanted in the front yard. It was probably only like 8 inches tall when we did it. And look at it now over 20 years later. Now had i been a little smarter as a kid, I would not have planted it under a power line. :-) I am very proud of this tree.

May 1-3rd, 2011

Pajama shirt, diaper, and pink cowboy boots, hmmmmmm..... She likes to dress herself.

I was fixing the cushions on the couch and found this. Carter hides his most cherished toys and i found his spot. He really did not want cedar or calla playing with his cars.

Cool cedar

Again, in each others beds.

So I had to take this picture to show them later in life. Carter was crying and upset about something (I think he didn't want to go to bed), and Calla is behind him just cracking up!

Cedar loves the little laptops for kids, he could play for hours.

Easter 2011

Cedar really just wanted to hang on to the egg. And then sometimes he would drop it pretty hard into the glass.

First taste of pez, which we quickly figured out he is allergic to. Poor kid is allergic to so many things!

They really had a good time with the egg coloring. And yes I took the clothes off for this as well. I don't like getting stains out of laundry!

Here, carter had just licked the egg. So this is the face of yummy vinegar! Funny thing is he just kept doing it. We had to laugh!

End of April 2011

Calla at bedtime with a story book. And as you can see she is in Carter's bed. They like to mix it up.

4*30*11 Not the clearest picture in the world but can you imagine my face when calla walked by me right after her bath with a rubber snake around her neck. The snake looks so real! There are times that I see it curled up and have to quickly look again to make sure it is the rubber one!

4*28*11 Cedar has now taking a liking to his blanky. He loves to play peek a boo with it! He likes to drag it around as well.

4*19*11 So my friends gave me some cupcakes on my birthday which I gladly shared with the kids. The blue icing required the shirts to be removed! Glad I did.

4*19*11 He thinks he is soooooo big. This was his new trick in April. He still does this but now he stands and looks at us like "look no hands". Scares me, but at least he is on the carpet most of the time.

Cedar calling those hogs during lunch! Why not?
