Trip to Northeast Arkansas
This past week my mother (maw-maw) and I took the kids to see my grandfather, aunt and uncle, and great aunt in northeast Arkansas. It rained the entire time we were there! Carter had his first ear infection about two weeks ago and was on antibiotics, finished on Thursday, so we left a trail of really fun diapers all the way across Arkansas. He was a trooper as you can see by the smiles on his face. They both had a great time and did very well on the trip other than the multiple diapers for Carter and a couple of really tired babies on the way home. It was so good to see everyone, we don't get over there enough. It seems to take a moving truck to take these kids anywhere. Thanks everyone for having us!
This was Aunt Peggy's big picture window in the front of her house. The babies have never had a window that they could pull up to and look out, it entertained them for a good deal of time. I think we left so slobbers on there for her to remember us by. :-)
These are both new outfits that grandmommy gave us, they fit great and looked adorable! Thanks grandmommy Bowling!
Great Granddad and Calla. It took her a little while to warm up, she does that with most people these days, but once she did she really enjoyed her great granddad. I am pretty sure the feeling was mutual!

Carter and Calla were all over the place. They are crawling faster everyday, pulling up on everything, and cruising around once they are up! They seem to be in fast forward these days and we want it to slow down! They discovered that they could crawl behind this chair at great granddad's house and come out the other side to run from mommy. I thought my house wasn't child proof but great granddad's was a challenge at times. So many fun things to open and close and put in our mouths...

So I really need to catch things up on this blog. So much has happened in the last month or so I don't even know where to begin. I am 20 weeks pregnant with our third child (more info to come), and all is well there. Carter and Calla are both crawling officially now and they also both pull up. Carter even has a nice little row of teeth marks on his crib rail to show for it. (Just discovered tonight, looks great!) Whoever told me (and many have) that twins get easier, must be insane! We are exhausted. It takes all the effort in the world to change a diaper much less get them dressed. They are always on the move. Cant be still for one second. Carter is a little rough with his sister, and us for that matter, all boy for sure. He pulls hair, hits, and pinches. All of which he is unaware that it hurts people. Hopefully this will pass soon. He laughs a lot and smiles all the time. The bug eyed picture, that is
what he looks like when he crawls. I actually think he was thinking about biting my knee in that one also. He still laughs when she cries but is quick to try to console her as well. He will put his hand on her leg. He steals her toys and gives her toys. They trade so quick you cant even see it happen. You will give them teethers to chew on and they end up with each others in an instant. No keeping germs to yourself in our house! They finally have the sippy cups figured out, carter for sure and he peeks around the cup to make sure you are smiling and proud of him. He splashes like crazy in the bath. He loved cottage cheese, his first real solid, and within hours he had a rash all over. Yes my boy is allergic to corn, cottage cheese, and yogurt. Guess milk will be out of the question at one year. He does love to eat but doesn't do it well yet (other than formula, he has that down). He is our snuggle buggie. Calla on the other hand only snuggles when she is sleepy. She is a better eater of purees than buggie but gags the instant anything semi-solid hits her tongue. Guess she is not ready. She loves her daddy, gets so excited when he is around. They both do. They are really starting to show how happy they are to see us. They fight over me when I get home from work. So flattering! I love it when they both come and crawl up in my lap! She is a little more tempermental, especially when it is bedtime. She fights sleep with all she's got. Loves her brother but knows to look out for him. She can crawl but really enjoys grunting until she gets what she wants (when we give in). Her crawl is not as defined and sometimes looks like a big ape using her arms and then her hind end in one move. Its funny. They both love to play and be tickled. I am sure that I am forgetting something. Oh yes, teeth. Calla still has none, but she is working on it. Carter has two bottom ones and is working on some more. In all we are so blessed each day to have them in our lives. They are amazing even when I am going nuts with all the craziness! We love our sweet babies! I will try to be better about updating this, life seems to never slow down. Have a good day all!

Happy 90th Granddad!
Hard finding time these days!
I am so behind in posting! Life gets crazy with two 9 month olds for sure! The beginning of september we decided it was time for the babies to loose the baby bath tub. They were sitting well by themselves at 8 months old so we gave it a try. THEY LOVED IT! I think they look forward to bath time all day long. Now they could be super sleepy and you walk into the bathroom and turn on the water and they go crazy with delight. Carter splashes like crazy so mommy gets a bath too. Calla just likes to play with toys and enjoy the warm water. Of course all the while defending herseld from carter's splashing. Occasionally there is a head dunk but for the most part they do great and love it! It is a slight time saver also (perk) except when daddy is still at work then it is a challenge (con) trying to get them out and safe and little butts covered quickly as to not give the bathroom or hall a yellow bath in return. Carter still outweighs calla as you can see above but sister is finally starting to defend herself. She has started goind after his hair too, difference is that he doesnt seem to care and she screams bloody murder when hers gets pulled. He thinks it is too funny when she cries, he just sits and giggles. It may be a long 18 plus years for mommy and daddy! More pics and update to come!
