First Thanksgiving

First Thanksgiving! This is our first after - turkey picture. Calla looks like she is in a turkey coma. Carter loves to eat to of course the smile was a permanent fixture on his face. The England family joined us and it was a great time. I do not like the fact that you spend all day in the kitchen for a 30 minute meal and then another hour to clean up, but it was worth it.

One year ago today...

I had a doctors appt today and when I was driving on snowy roads to Mercy medical center I could not help but remember back to this time last year. On this day last year we walked in to the NICU and I remember looking at Calla first and she was not there. The isolette was empty and I was really confused at first. We then looked over to the other side of the room where Carter was staying and this is what we saw. I started crying because we were so happy that they finally, after a week, had each other by their side. I can not even begin to say how truely blessed we are. I knew it then and those blessings grow every day! Cedar will be here before we know it and Carter and Calla are blossoming into the sweetest most entertaining little people in our lives. I know I am super behind on posts and will get right on that sometime soon, but today I just had to take a look back at just how far they (we) have come in the last year. God has been good to us and we thank him!
